GL Assessment
The educational assessment company that produces the Buckinghamshire Secondary Transfer Test.
Definition
GL Assessment (formerly Granada Learning Assessment) is the UK's leading provider of standardised educational assessments. They produce the Buckinghamshire Secondary Transfer Test and the testing materials used by several other grammar school areas including Kent, Lincolnshire, and Northern Ireland. GL Assessment's 11+ tests use a specific question format — multiple choice with five answer options — and deliver instructions via audio recording. The questions cover verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning (including spatial), mathematical reasoning, and English comprehension. GL Assessment's format differs from CEM (Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring, based at Durham University), which is used by other grammar school areas.
